Robert Edward McIntyre was a 22 year old butcher from Horsham who served in the 8th Battalion, A.I.F. and was killed in action at Lone Pine on 7 August 1915. He was the son of James Duncan McIntyre and Cecilia Harriet McIntyre. The above words are inscribed at his tombstone at the Shrapnel Valley Cemetery, Gallipoli.
